Dreams of Stasis - Brux - Innsbruck
An increasingly fast-paced society has given new impetus to an architectural typology: fully transportable houses. Dreams of Stasis explores this phenomenon of so-called mobile homes and their place in the radical environment of the desert. In America, buildings have long been constructed with mobility in mind—homes quickly assembled with wooden frames were intended to be inhabited only until it was time to move on, toward new opportunities, newly built cities, new ways of life, and new territories to claim. Oscillating between documentary footage from West Texas, digital imagery, spatial installation, and narrative texts, Dreams of Stasis invites the audience to reflect on the illusion of individualism in an era of prefabricated architecture.
